I have a very strong memory of the time spent with my mother in the kitchen. It was kind of a ritual for me, very special moments. I remember coming back home every saturday morning, from school, pushing the door of my building and already smelling the scents of the Boeuf Bourguignon, the Lapin chasseur, the Pot-au-feu… Every saturday I knew that after spending that painful time at school (who wants to be 4 hours in a classroom every saturday mornings…), I’ll have a reward. I will watch my mother stirring, add more ingredients, tasting… I wasn’t really interested in cooking at that time, but I was enjoying those moments in a very personal way.
And then on sunday, my mother, for lunch, would cook again. I will stay in the kitchen the entire time, watching her prepping this meal. It always was a moment of happiness and family time.
This blog is about all those beautiful moments that I shared with my mother (and my grand mothers). The simple, real and delicious food that makes me happy. I will probably not share recipe that I’d create (I am not there yet), but those that I enjoy alone, with my other half or with friends.
Bon appetit!
